Definitely don't buy a DSO then.
Just checking, the T935 is not excessively large for an analogue 'scope. Personally, I prefer the "upright" format - my Telequipment DM63 is that sort of form factor. A lot of analogue 'scopes are less tall, but considerably wider, which occupies a lot more bench space. They're all that sort of depth because of the CRT. Smaller 'scopes exist, but they tend to have compromises.
Those cheap probes are no-doubt fine for the money. Treat them with care and they should last well enough.
