The intended recipient was in Doha - they just put the wrong Aramex code on it - being fair they have shipped to me in Dubai before, but still a silly mistake.
I guess that as it's no longer new-in-box and is many 1,000s of miles and several customs clearances away from its intended owner, they just cut their losses and will start again.
If it had been an MSO or something more valuable, one suspects that their approach would be different.
In one of EEVBLOG's tests, they put mains into it on on the ohms range. It went a bit bonkers for a bit, then came back to normal - 300 hours of use on one set of batteries (4xAA). Full data logging too - up to 10,000 readings internally recorded. I already have the IR<->USB cable for it as I use that on the U1253B - the cable is used to connect to their free logging & capture s/w.
A better meter than I am engineer!
I had a play with the data logger - did a delta on the workshop mains with samples every 5 seconds, baselined at 249VAC - can do up to 4DP but only did 2DP.
