The last LTspice I downloaded didn't work on XP, needed Win7 or higher, though amazingly it's fine on WINE (no VM needed) on Linux. My old XP models worked.
I've downloaded it anyway, though I've pretty much given up Electronics in favour of writing. Maybe I'll change my mind in the summer.
LTspiceXVII is for Windows 7,8 & 10 - you need the previous version, LTspiceIV for XP (and it's now marked End-of-Life) - see https://www.analog.com/en/design-center/...ator.html#
Why should being part of ADI be an issue? - they have stated full support for it and indeed have added a huge number of ADI models - it seems to be going from strength to strength. It's fully 64-bit, multi-threaded, fast and stable with a huge number of models by default plus the ability to use pretty much any PSPICE model from other sources too.
