Dennis Tillman (he's in the US) has produced an excellent description, and supplies a small circuit board to adapt a valve tester to connect to a Tektronix curve tracer. That uses the transformer taps in the valve tester to produce heater, screen grid voltage and and control grid steps via an amplifier from +10V to -50V.

I've just taken delivery of one, and plan to use an AVO MkII with a stuffed meter as the valve tester mule.
