Good points and advice here. I can add a recommendation for good quality digital meters at realistic but not super cheap prices, the quality exceeds the price though, not a combination often seen these days ! Kewtech. They have many other useful products in their range, including mains socket test adaptors etc. There stuff can be had on ebay for less than their list price.
