Would you consider sharing your findings with regard to wire gauge and number of turns for these transformers?
With so many people hell bent on finding and cannibalising these radios, then selfishly guarding their findings, it would be very refreshing to see someone volunteer such information without casualty.
That you found such a rare set in need of transformer repair/replacement raises questions, in my opinion. Perhaps such a character got to it and attempted to unwind them, before you found it.
Interesting r54 observations. I found biasing quite difficult with a 25k pot as the business was all right at the end of the pot's travel.
It did cross my mind that a smaller value pot would be easier to operate and perhaps more appropriate.
Like you, I have speculated about transformer values and made educated-guess custom-wounds (in a 100% diy circuit), so these findings may or may not be meaningful, or relevant to an original circuit.
