Really nice topic here Mike. I've always thought that Chassy Bros who made Supersonic radio's must have has the radio's licensed under different brand names! I have both models of the Supersonic Conquest, the PR80 (transformer version)and the PR80C which came out later in 65 and had the Audio board(non transformer version) on the on the IF board. https://postimg.org/image/ljs08wv89/
Here's the PR80 https://postimg.org/image/8bsmfyxp5/ and an image of it by itself https://postimg.org/image/t9yse1xjt/ and the PR80C https://postimg.org/image/b8fng93ix/
The PR80C I got on Ebay in a lot of radio's a few years back,it never worked but got it for a display piece and some former owner tried fixing it and it has lose wires, it looks identical in the circuitry to the KB international KRO26 but has a different speaker grill, same type as on the PR80.
the RF/switch assembly in both the PR80 and PR80C looks identical to the KB KRO16.
On the PR80 I got it in a box of old radio's at a swap meet,it didn't work neither but I got it for the audio output board that I got working, Both Supersonic's say made in Rhodesia, here's the PR80 back https://postimg.org/image/eulgsw9w9/ also the PR80 had a sticker inside that says Spiegel Chicago, here's it is,I'm presuming that Spiegel was a distributor here in the US that sold Chassy Bros radio's. https://postimg.org/image/3wf97trmh/
On the PR80 after getting the transformer to work I made a duplicate,it works great, https://postimg.org/image/4agl7fbq1/ and had fun winding transformer's with different gauge wires. https://postimg.org/image/wpvykq13t/
What's odd is the KB International KRO16 and RDG RR14 schematic shows parts R54 the bias pot for the driver as 30 ohms whereas the PR80 has a 25k bias pot. Mike I really like the Kolster-Brandes museum site. Eventually maybe i will get both Supersonic radio's working or just use em for parts-I will probably get cannonized here for saying that! Mike could you tell me which radio you liked sound wise better, the KRO16 or the KB KRO26 ,Thanks Kevin
