Here is my latest efforts to make the wave change indicator flag.
It is made of 2 layers of paper, superglued together, with a further 3 layers superglued on the ends to strengthen it further because I will need to drill holes to take the cord on one end and a spring on the other.
The printed layer was than glued on using Prit Stick which does not show through the paper like PVA.
Hopefully it will be strong enough to drill the holes and sustain the pulling and friction caused by the cord and coil spring.
I have given the surface a coat of varnish to age it slightly and help protect the finish of the paper.
I found a font which looked correct except for the 1, 6 & 9 so saved the text as a bitmap then I had to manually edit the text to get it to look correct.
The original would have been made of a celluloid sheet, with a very small eyelet at each end, but I have no suitable eyelets.
