Rest assured they are not trimmers. Under the hatch screws are simple brackets with nothing below. The design here was very clever. Very easy access to the windings although I was less impressed by the Ferrite aerial.
Astrad Auriga is the export model of the VE12. Mark is free to edit the title in any way so desired. I am fine if it assists.
The only thing more to add is I have a great schematic now for the VE12 which I had enlarged.
