Maybe its just me, but I've always been somewhat reticent using dirt cheap digital meters.
We have eight less than cats do.
My old Maplin precision Gold, is about as cheap as I like to go, and that was quite pricey, way back when.
Admittedly, the dangers are somewhat limited if you only work on battery-powered transistor radios, but then you might forget, and work on a mains-powered Roberts, say.
