My 2000 series Rigol scope has performed beautifully for the last 18 months since I got it. I have had only one gripe, and I don't know if its the same on the 1000 series. The fan is s***ing noisy!
So noisy in fact that I could not leave the scope on in the background, but had to turn it on just for periods of actual use. Far, far more noisy than the Tek 22xx and 24xx series.
So I have just opened it up (out of the warranty period) and stuck a series resistor in the 12V feed to the fan (snipped one wire), to lower the voltage to about 7-8 Volts. Magic. Peace and quiet.
I measured the air exhaust temperature before and after and it's only 2-3 degrees different. So it was an overkill in the first place.
Jeffrey, I am sure you'll love that scope!
