Many thanks John for your good wishes they are appreciated. What's the story behind your Dremel set up in the picture John; are you letting some wood into the antique chair? Also how do you rate Dremel's because I don't have one.
Thanks Gary and I appreciated your concerns when I first informed you of my intention to veneer a curve using the Burr Walnut; your concerns might yet be proved accurate as I've not yet succeeded. This project and my notes seem long winded but I'm trying to supply as much information as possible not only about how I'm doing the work but why. I enjoy woodworking especially if I can use both my head and hands to try new ideas. Veneering curves must be difficult or the web would be full of videos showing how its done; I'm so near but I can still see problems ahead; I'm unable to joint the veneer by overlapping and cutting on the joint which runs vertically over the curve and so far I'm even unable to cut a straight line due to the buckling of the veneer; all problems to resolve but one by one I hope to find the answers.
Thanks David; I'll be spending more time in the workshop over the next few days and will update the thread with progress. Time to knock off to spend some quality time and watch a downloaded movie with Bron; I can't stand too much excitement in one day.
