SE Labs SM111is a nice scope, and seems to be reliable. It uses standard commodity parts and is very accessible, so is easy to repair, unlike the more sophisticated HP and Tektronix machines. The snag is the whistle from the power supply which makes it unpopular. I recommend you pack the PSU screening box with fibreglass wool, which deadens it well.
The power plug is the small Bulgin, current late 1960's, shown as the left hand one in your picture. type plug P429 / socket P430 or the pair P360/SE. The right hand one, with the shielding around each pin is for the alternative 24V DC supply, which is very rare indeed, type SA2404, ot pair P561.
The small Bulgin was used on quite a lot of equipment at that time. A circular body which plugs in with 3 recessed female sockets, and a groove on one side to restrict insertion to a single way only. The live contacts are very well covered. Perfectly useable, but with the modern craze for safety, it was condemned as it is possible to unscrew the top while it is plugged in (if you are so silly as to do so) and thus electrocute yourself. Distinguish it from the older large Bulgin, which is about 1" diameter, current 1950's. wme_bill m0wpn.
