The TF2700 arrived today...Not too sure about it, cosmetically it's not to bad given its age, all the right bits are there and is quite tidy, this unit was supposed to be working, well it does and it doesn't, tried a 470 R resistor to kick off with, balance controls not responding, meter ok, tried a 220 K resistor all workie workie.
Mmm me thinks, multiplier ok on position 7 and 8 but not below position 7, quick look at the book of words, can only be one of two things, a tapped secondary winding on the oscillator has gone open or its output series feed resistor has gone open or worse still...they have both gone open, out comes the Avo, bingo it's the resistor R6 (2.4R) clean open, put a temp link across and intrument now balances ok on the lower ranges including C and L
So what's to do....Either send it back to the seller and squabble for a refund or spend 10p on a resistor.
I think the resistor will be the least hassle.
