Hi,
Very well done David in effecting this neat and very effective repair. I'm delighted to see you making use of the lathe and couldn't agree more about the lathe earning its keep. Lathe work is highly addictive as you already know given your passion for wood turning so you are now a lost cause owning two lathes.
Your Lorch lathe is perfect for this type of work given it's high precision as shown in this example and hopefully it will encourage other members to buy a lathe as even a very small lathe can quickly earn its keep.
No one would guess such a repair had been carried out just by looking at the scope. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
Kind regards, Col.

Happiness is a wreck of a cabinet to restore.
