Hi Kevin,
I guessed as much - the Post Office are onto a nice little earner - at least Dick Turpin wore a mask! It's why I always have misgivings about buying from 'Justradios' in Canada - I'm not sure if their stuff always comes in under the radar, but it's a risk I'd rather not take if I can get stuff in the UK.
I've bough lots of bits and pieces from the Far East and never been stung - all low value stuff - up to about £20.00. Maybe it depends on the declared value as stated by the sender?
As to your Stateside test-gear, I guess it's Hobson's choice, but what irritates me is that if you go to the States, you are I think entitled to bring back goods to a certain value duty free.
You must by now have quite an array of US test-gear - indeed, maybe you've just about cornered the market!!:D
Regards, David.
