The vase is a real treasure never lose it!
I can remember making a microphone stand in my metalwork class in the early 70's as with money being hard to come by (funny it still is) this was one of the few ways we could make some equipment for one of the first groups i was in. Given its construction, it was far too heavy to lug around so it ended up a stand for a birdcage!
I don't remember much of anything coming out of the school as everything tended to be recycled in one way or another.
