Peripheral to the soldering iron topic, and inappropriate reflexes kicking in, I had an incident with a scalpel.
I have a few of these which I use for various uses - some woodwork related and some electronic.
Anyway, I was using one to strip the PTFE insulation on some wire, and it slipped off the bench. Tried to catch it - between my thighs. And stuck it into my leg.
There is no more unpleasant thing than pulling a scalpel out of your own leg. Surprisingly no blood - but I now have a hole in one of my pairs of trousers :-)
