ULTRA T401

next on the bench an ULTRA T401 picked up today from a boot sale for £10
sadly it has a crack in the case but a nice looking set

time to start on this.
here are some photos of what we are dealing with .i have removed the mains lead as it had crumbled to bare wires.
just to confuse things the neg went direct to the mains switch but the live went to pin 7 of the uu6 rec .but this is used only as an anchor as there is no internal connection!

started on sorting out the previous repair a lot of the rubber wire will need attention.

Those wires look like they are fabric covered. Is there perished rubber under the fabric?

the fabric covered wires are on the whole ok but there are rubber/plastic ? covered ones that just crumble on touch.

Sometimes those wires with the rubber insulation that turns to dust can be used to pull new wires through.

Or just slip new sleeving over them.

a bit more done today the two caps under the brass clip changed i have allso mounted a 32/16 mf can ready to sort out the RS ones some one has pointed out a wax cap inbetween the coil packs that one could be abit of a beast to get at
