Re-purposing TV valves

Hi Sam.
An EF80 should give about 1.5W audio out, wired in PP say 3W (new type of Mullard 3-3?).
It would produce a good headphone amp. was it ever used as an audio OP in TV's, I believe the EF91 was.

EF80s would make quite a respectable pair of amplified speakers for a computer in push pull with a small mains transformer used as the output transformer.
A pile of used TV valves that does not have a few EF80s in it would be a bad omen if such a thing were to be found.
