i don't own a Pi yet so this is all speculaltive stuff.
RPIs have a composite output connector, a phono (RCA) socket on most, a header on pi zero:

Clearly the Pi zero doesn't have a dedicated coder chip. Don't know about other PIs. This raises the question of whether the composite output could in theory be programmable to do 405.
It may well be that the composite output logic is pretty much dedicated to doing PAL/NTSC and not very programmable. Or not.
Your thoughts please.
