They could well be at the bottom of the low HT problem as if they are leaking electrically they'll be pulling it down; I had the same thing with my AVO Test Bridge.

The other large capacitor is giving some odd readings, despite my taking it out of circuit. It was reading over 36uF (it's nominally 4uF) in circuit and 11uF out of circuit on my Peak meter.

Those strange readings could be caused by the instrument you're using to measure the capacitance, especially if it's a modern-style DMM with a capacitance range. However, those caps. are now tired; probably faulty: time to replace them. Yes, I'd fit 'modern' electrolytics too.

Just to add to the story. I found two images last night that makes me think Pye may have offered a range of service equipment along the same lines as my Analyzer. These images date from 1946 at the latest.

I believe that the Service Workshop Rack was for (Pye) Dealers, although it could clearly be used on any radios.

I understand Alan's neighbours have complained about subsidence since the arrival of that Seriously, I'd love one of those.

Just a pondering of course but maybe the sets in 'my' line were offered to service shops. Why create a catalogue if these were for in-house use only.
