Hi everyone, I found you through Google, and thanks to the admin for approving my signup.
I've been trawling through here, and I see one or two familiar names from other parts of the web, and also found some excellent resources linked here from the BVWS newsletter-which has enticed me to finally get the finger out and actually join!
Two reasons for posting; firstly to say hello. I've dipped in and out of the hobby for years, have a background in the electricity industry, and now that the dust is starting to settle a bit, I want to get back to restoring and enjoying (at least for a few hours a week at any rate.)
The second reason, is that the reason I found the forum in the first place, was through mention of Gary Tempest's excellent articles on the restoration of the 650, a 1936/7 behemoth that I have left neglected in the shed, and really should finish if I'm to be serious about getting back in the pool at all. In dispatches, Gary mentioned that he'd gotten a few dials made up and was moving the spare ones on to recoup some of his costs. I know it was a few years ago, but I hope that;
(a): He is still here,
(b): At least one of those dials is still in his possession, and
©: It's surplus to requirements and he's willing to sell!
Anyway, thanks for reading this far, and I look forward to participating in the group.
Kind regards,
Ryan.
