Veneering tools

Well I thought it best to get some proper tools for veneering work.
So I have invested in a veneering hammer, veneer saw and Ulmia stringing cutter.
I also got a cabinet scraper burnisher, makes a super sharp edge.
So now I just need to get a radio on the go for cabinet refinishing.
I think I may try the stringing cutter on some pine first just to get a feel for it.

That's the one, it uses three blades, two to cut a grove held in the recess, and a plough type in the rounded holder.
Also does curves with the two loops on the back side of guide.
I came with a full set of plough cutters of varying widths.

I will not attempt veneering until i'm 15!
I will end up ruining a radio and won't be happy.. :-/

Nice one! Amazingly I have yet to try veneering but it's definitely on the to do list, especially as I am setting up a carpentry business

Top tip for anything that uses a blade, if you have access to a buffing wheel (you can often fit them to bench grinders) buff the blade before using, it makes it twice as sharp. This goes for all blades/irons, whether it be planes, spokeshaves, chisels or cabinet scrapers. Don't go through the veneer though! :D

No production line here Col, in fact very little in the way of production, my tiny mind is elsewhere.
I will however post some pictures as and when they get used.
