Our Heritage Open Days weekend will be on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September. 11am to 4pm. Admission will be free.

The photo is of a young visitor operating a Marconi Mk VII first generation colour camera. He came with his father and was very sceptical about going to a museum. Then another visitor, a professional cameraman, showed him how to use a camera and he was fascinated.

We had a great weekend for our Heritage Open Days opening. About 170 people over the two days, with lots of visitors staying for several hours. It was rather wet on Saturday but glorious on Sunday.

One young family from Lincoln had a great time and posted a wonderful review on Google Maps. They have given consent to use their photos and their children are likely to become the new young faces of the museum. Even though we can only see the backs of their heads in this picture.

Our next open days are on Sundays October 5th and November 2nd. Then we're closed until April 2026.
