As I am downsizing I have been dragging out some of my sets.
I bought a lot of sets during the period 1995 - 2010 when I spent a lot of time overseas.
When I was home I bought sets with the idea I would get to them later.........
This set was of interest at the time because it was a battery set with QPP.
My interests have become more focused in the last couple of years.
I cannot recall if I spotted the mains plug at the time.
So in the assessment of the set I removed the mains lead and plug which were connected it turns out to the filament supply.
No surprise the filaments were all OC and the QPP had also lost its vacuum.
It must have been quite a bang.
It makes the bodgers who connect the PP9 to the filaments of 50's valve battery portables look like amateurs.
Funnily enough nothing else seems to have been damaged, amazing.
Cheers
