Need Help with my TV22.
I have a 1951/2 TV22 that i am trying to get going, So far I have temporally replaced mains filter caps with new ones hardwired (I will put them inside the old cans once/if i can get a raster of some sort). I have temporally done a few capacitor bodges, just to try and get a raster. When i first got the set, my main worries were the LOPT and CRT Condition, but i still have no idea if these are any good as i there is no EHT. I removed and cleaned the black pitch off the LOPT, replaced the EY51 (NOS) EHT Rect' and sprayed the whole thing with anti corona spray. It now looks better than new! I also checked the resistances of all the windings and all seem OK. I then re-fitted it and went for Power up. i have no variac or isolation transformer so to be safe-ish powered it from a computer UPS (unplugged at first !!). the heaters started to glow and i have sound (white noise as i have no source yet) You can here the line stage oscillating. The filaments on the EHT rectifier are glowing but not very brightly. The HT is about 175v (190v if i remove the anode cap off V4 Line Amp). I can't get an arc off V4 anode nor CRT cap. I can get a small 1/4" arc from pin 7 of LOPT (EHT rect anode). I don't want to just replace all capacitors & valves as this would be quite an expensive way to go about it and i would learn nothing! or that i have wasted my time as the LOPT or CRT are no good. any advice would greatly be appreciated.
