Seller in Aylesbury, set in Edinburgh. There have been a number of fraudulent attempts to sell pre-war TVs. One can only hope this sale is genuine

I'm away from home at the moment but if anyone far away is tempted I could try to see it if it's still available after 19th June.

I emailed Peter about this one. I'm not interested for myself but he's in a good position to know about things in Edinburgh. It would be quite exceptional if one of these exceptionally rare sets emerged. I think there was one in the MBL collection but that was presumably sold in the big auction a few years ago.

Looking at the venir patterns and comparing with the MBL set I suspect that it is the same set. I don't know if the 902 in MBL's sale sold so it may have returned to his home which was near Edinburgh.

It is the MBL set that is being described. Same serial number.

Peter, thanks for finding that out. I still wonder why it's being sold by a dealer in Aylesbury.

I think his widow retained the Edinburgh house after they moved to France. I suspect that the sale is genuine.

I'm back home again and phoned about this set. Apparently it is now sold and earlytech is MBL's son. The set is awaiting collection from MBL's widow but I am hoping to see it before it goes so that I can take photos of the interior and note the chassis numbers.
