Sean, congratulations on getting an excellent hobby lathe in the ML1. I have a Super 7 and I use it all the time.
I am disposing of have a stack of model engineering magazines which total about1 metre high, both Model Engineer and Engineering in Miniature. If you would like them, all we have to do is to arrange transport - perhaps with the ML1 as I'm daan saath!
Cheers

Sean, do you want the mags?
As to the tool size, what tool holder has the lathe? a standard Myford or a quick change? I use 1/4" to 1/2" in my Dixon quick-change but the 1/2" tool bits are definitely on the large size.
Cheers

Thanks but I'm not really a reader lol very kind of you though. Think I'll go with 3/8, it's coming with standard tool holder as far as I can see in the pictures.

That's not how you spell Dickson young Brian unless it's some sort of Chinese copy - http://www.lathes.co.uk/latheparts/page13.html.
I love mine. I spent many a long year fiddling about with packing, and of course time is not generally of the essence, but being able to change tools within seconds is wonderful. Rotagrip do splendid ones but sit down before you look at the prices - http://www.rotagriponline.com/index.php?...virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=589&Itemid=29 The Chronos ones are more economical - http://www.chronos.ltd.uk/cgi-bin/sh0000...D=toolpost&PN=Myford_Lathe_Compatible_Acessories%2ehtml#aMX90_2e_2e There are others. Yes, 3/8" or 10mm should be OK. There's no point trying to be too brutal. Alan

Been speaking to Eddystonepete, this gent is generous to a fault I believe the saying is. Maybe sometime soon I'll be able to meet the man himself in the flesh and shake his hand.
Thanks again Peter ???

I stand corrected, Alan. Of course it's Dickson. Fortunately, my lathe was fitted with the genuine article when I bought it and it came with 6 tool holders!!
Cheers
Brian My wide-band IF problems are no more - now I've got others! So.... Lathe arrived today, bit disappointed the seller was a bit shy with the truth of his description unfortunately, and pulled a fast one on the photo front also. Seller said the cross slide was complete when in actual fact it's far from it. Also there's no tailstock chuck, seller said there was and it was in the sent photos. Ah.... The photos, they were of a different greeny blue lathe to the one I received which is a dirty blue colour. Anyways there are positives the bearings are in good nick, it looks like a newish 3 jaw chuck and the ways are in great condition? Now I need to find me a cross slide and a tailstock chuck. Photo of what came regarding the cross slide
