Hi.
The chassis out of a D16T has been here for a good few weeks. Initially I looked at the chassis and checked over a few of the obvious things. The Mains transformer was reading OK but it began to fizzle with around 180v primary volts, I quickly removed the power and decided to pass a few ma through the EHT winding and place a 20 watt resistor on a heatsink under it and run it so it dissipated around 12-15 watts of heat, both were left on for a couple of weeks and there is now no issues with the transformer. Both blocking oscillator transformers need to be replaced or rewound, funnily enough I have a line blocking oscillator tx here that appears to be unused.
The last few weeks have been busy, what with the amateurs foundation and Judy being a Red Cross Volunteer for the Covid 19 vaccination centres and taking her to and from the venues it's taken up some time.
I've been recapping and replacing resistors, there are many way out of value on this set, more than usual TBH and further out of tolerance as well. There is also a fair amount of perished wiring.
This set may take longer than I anticipated.
