I've just found this valve amplifier lurking in my stores. The chassis metalwork looks professional but the under chassis wiring looks a bit DIY. The cage over the top could well be a later addition. Possibly built from a kit? Does anyone recognise it?

2x EL34 push-pull into a Radiospares Heavy Duty output transformer
1x GZ34 rectifier
1x ECC83
2x EF86, in screening cans

All valves are Pinnacle or unbranded.

Good hefty looking mains transformer.

From the front panel , it looks like it was aimed more at PA than domestic hifi, though the valve and transformer line-up suggests rather better quality than much PA.

I'm thinking of flogging it at the NVCF. Any idea how much I should ask?
I remember those, It looks like one of the mid 1960s "Linear" brand or one of it's derivatives. It could be from a kit, but then the factory ones were cheaply put togther. The caps have been replaced as has the output transformer, a weak spot.

Sold to Pubs, small halls and Pop groups at the time. The top cage is original.

That looks very much like a Linear conchord or L50 amplifier. They were a budget amplifier and not well respected in the amplifier business. Some were also branded RSC.

Sorry cross posted with beamcurrent
Thanks for the quick ID. the schematic looks about right. They weren't exactly proud of their name, as I can't see any branding at all on the amp.
Since it looks like a proper 8 ohm output, from the RS output transformer it's got to be worth £75-£100 to someone, if slightly tidied up.
For some reason RS output transformers command quite a price secondhand, and that mains transformer looks rather fine as well, even if the audiofool thought police would say it doesn't visually match the output transformer! 8 ohm amps will have been designed for a better frequency response from the outset so are a lot better bet than a PA amp (100V line).
And then there are (hopefully) good valves in it.
What do others think?
If NVCF doesn't raise interest at a good price, try Audiojumble.
Thanks Jeremy. We can price it up on the day and see how it goes.
