There's an item listed on ebay at the moment with the title above. It looks like an adaptor to allow a record-deck to be used as a tape recorder. Not something I've ever seen, nor thought exisited!

Date from the late '50s, were never any use.
Odd to hear of one being listed, they are now extremely rare.
As Sam says they were never any use and that is the main reason for their rarity now.
There are a few complete/part units listed, so not, apparently, all that rare!
Regards,
Dave.
How about "rare but difficult to sell" ?

Em Interesting.
Haven't seen them for some time, Oh well it's surprising what can turn up.
I do remember a 1960's 'Which?' report comparing tape recorders, this was one of them.
Gearing was such that one of the standard tape speeds was achieved at one of the standard record speeds. And then you had as many non-standard speeds as you had other speeds on the turntable.
The only person I knew who bought a brand new Gramdeck went on to join the police force, soon after which he arrested his own father. Not the sharpest knife in the box, but the force was critically short of recruits. Presumably.
Not much use, the Gramdeck and very much a novelty item.
