If I didn't need anything special for a 'scope I would probably go for one of the dual channel Hamegs. Simple and reliable. A Tek 2225 would also be fine, as would one of the lower end Philips analogue instruments. I'm sure there are others. Iwatsu? Avoid anything Advance/Gould due to iffy EHT section. Anything old and valve is for testgear enthusiasts only. Even the Telequipment D66 etc which I lusted after in my youth aren't exactly reliable. Nor are the otherwise quite nice D75 and D83.

My RIgol 1054Z does a pretty good job as a digital scope but still too many artefacts for my liking. I don't use it enough to find it intuitive to drive. There are plenty of usable digital scopes at the sub £200 level.

And always have at least two 'scopes so you can use one to fix the other

I have the same model (not the same scope) Hameg as 1982.
Easy to repair and manual has schematics. I had to replace a 741 and a 100V reference diode.
Simple to use. Though 20Mhz, it's useful at even 150 MHz (just not calibrated or accurate).
You need serious money for a decent digital scope. I do have a S/H Owon with tjhe 16 ch logic probe.
The SA that replaced the HP141T (died and not repairable is a Rigol good to 1.5 GHz with the TG licence. The TG is a nice Sig Gen if span=0 and you have an external attenuator. Does 50 or 75 Ohms.
