can some one please tell me why an Atari 2600 will not work on an lcd tv set? and has anyone tried to bypass the modulator ?

i dont think these people ever han an Atari 2600 there is no composit out put and because the rf output is not standard new type tvs dont seem to like them

I can't work out why it wouldn't work normally?
nor me jamie, works fine on an old g11 but on two lcd tvs we tried it on its like the croma is overloaded and the line sync is iffy
i will get her to bring it back from uni but im not sure i can be bothered with it

Have a fiddle with the settings on the LCD tv.. Crappy things! I still have 4 CRT TV's :P
I've seen this post is quite a bit old but I have an experience like this.
My father has an Atari 2600 since before I was born. It was also the first videogame I've played. It only had a antenna coaxial cable out to connect on tv and a few years ago he took the video game to an technician who adapted it to AV out and it was the year my father bought us an LCD tv. ( It was 2014, and yes, before this we only had tube tvs haha) And it worked very well, the image was clear and perfect, better than the older cable that had a lot of interfereces.
