Really only doing this crosshatch etc for fun. The actual requirement was a full white screen test pattern but I decided to try a few other patterns and see how they looked. Device is still only just over 50% full.

The main limitation is the ultra-simple DAC. If I built an 8 bit R-2R ladder DAC I could have a go at colour bars and might even manage to get a very crude PAL coder in the device.

Forgot to saythat I installed the pattern generator at the Museum recently. Simply a matter of adding a BNC socket, a few resistors and reflashng the PLD in the control panel. All works well.

This success made me wonder if I could generate PAL colour bars using that PLD. I'll start a new thread.
