I got this in the mail yesterday. It's a shame the doc is in black and white but hopefully it gives you an idea of the designs that are available and the sizes. I may invest $10 and get the sample pack just to be sure of the colours. If I do I'll post some photos.
Cheers, John
The very best place closed down and that was John at Antique Radio Grill Cloth but Antique Electronic Supply has some that he used to sell.
Did buy one cloth from Brett, think it was 24, and used it in a Philips. I dont think it was really made for speakers as it was very thick and may have been for curtains. It was a B to fix and may cut the treble a bit: what treble those old sets aint got much? Looks very Philips to me and much cheaper than some of the genuine repro cloths available in Europe. I would have forked out though if there was one that was an exact match to the original but there wasnt so went for Brett's.

That looks very promising, although it does seem a bit odd in this day and age not to be in colour.

What made the cloth very hard to fix was being thick it had almost zero stretch or elasticity if you like. I managed to force enough to keep it nice and taut but adhesive alone wouldnt hold it and I had to use an upholstery staple gun as reinforcement.

Some very nice patterns there John, and remarkably cheap too. I see that it's post-free within the States - I wonder what international postage costs?
As to fixing speaker cloth, the best adhesive I've found by far, which I've mentioned before on the forum some time ago is the aptly name 'STUK' rapid spray fabric adhesive. It’s colourless and comes in a 500 mL aerosol can with a nozzle to adjust the rate of delivery from low to high. You spray the board – not the fabric, and although it has excellent ‘grab’ it does allow you time to stretch the material taut and to adjust the horizontal and vertical patterning of the fabric so that it looks just right. It sticks like the very devil and is far superior to anything else I've tried, such as Copydex.
I've ordered up the sample pack for $9.99 and the shipping to Switzerland is $4.85. I'll post some photos once they arrive.

Hi John,
Thanks for posting this as a couple of these might be a good replacement for my black DAC90.

Thanks Rob, when the samples arrive I'll be able to comment on general thickness to see if Mark's experience applies to all of them or just some.

That sample pack of cloth has arrived. I'm not sure how best to 'review' the contents since photos are already online. I'll see about making a video clip so folks can see how light or heavy each cloth is.
Cheers, John
(still can't get any bench time - hopefully soon)
