Thank you for your help. The Manual you have put on is for the CRB/2 the Manual i need is for the CRB3. Hunts made the first capaitor teser in the 1930s the CRB/2 was made from 1946 on this is the one Rob was working on some time back. The CRB3 is from 1959 or 1960.

Well done on trcking down the CRB3 manual Kevin. The manual for the CRB2 is - as you know - readily available, but not the CRB3. However, I notie that as with the CRB2 manual, the CRB3 is lacking in component values. Comparing the manual with the instrument and annotating the values on the circuit could be your mission, and ultimately, your claim to fame!
As to 'Hunts' and capacitor testing being an oxymoron, well yes, I guess it is with the passage of time, but in fairness, waxy paper caps have lasted far beyond their intended or expected life-span. Like most I guess, I routinely yank out and raplace Hunts waxies on sight due to their notoriety for leakage. However, Recently I've taken to testing removed ones, just out of curiosity on my Victor Insulation Tester. Even poking 1,000V across waxies rated at 350V. Most pass with flying colours, but I'll continue to retire them.
