Here are two little portable scopes :P a Tek 545B and a Tek 535B, i think myself one of the best made oscilloscopes of their time, both these are in A1 operating condition, one complete with wheelaround stand, amp housing, drawer for manuals etc....Alan.

Hi sorry Rob, for my late reply one the 545 is on its own wheelabout stand, with storage for the two spare amps (plug ins) the other is on a computer table by my bench, they weigh a lot, i dont lift them, you need a fork lift....Alan.

I have two working scopes but as yet don't even know how to use them; I also have two signal generators; one day I'll get on top of all my cabinetwork then settle at the bench to put some practice in at making blue flashes and loud bangs.

Hi Col, there are a lot of scope books about, quite cheap if you want to know more about scopes and how to use them. depends what you want them for. If you are into tv, higher frequencies are a used, for me these old work horses are ideal for my collection of radios, the frequency, can be altered on these by plug in amps, of which in total i have 4, i do have other scopes too 9 or 10 in total, i think
i also have 3 rf sig gens and two audio generators.... regards...Alan
Remember scopes on trolleys from my college days, loved using them even then ! Wonder if one was ever available for my Telequipment D83 ?
Hi schottky, i think your Telequipment D83, is more modern at it uses transistors more. The old 545 and 535 scopes had very limited use of transistors, what i can make out they were of poor quality, performance wise, so they were heavily valved, some of the plug ins have transistors, again not high performers, your scope is smaller, so it is easier to move around, the old Tek scopes were hernia makers, they were too heavy......Alan.

Yes the D83 is transistor, so much lighter than the old valve beasts, but still quite a lump ! I recall the college scopes were fan cooled so must have been valve.

The 545a weighed in at 66lb's (30Kg) if I'm not mistaken.
Not only heavy but baulky as well, and a real PITA to get through a doorway if your carrying one.
