I have made a sketch of a TV we had in the 60s, does anyone recognise the model? I know it was a Baird

Mark
Steve P will be your man to ID that set Mark.

If you had drawn the inside I could have told you as I was senior/colour engineer at Radio Rentals - best time of my life! It look's like the 480 series, but given time I will look in my archive and see if I can find a sales brouchire for it.

Leslie.
Nice to see you posting Les, welcome back!

cheers Mark

Thanks for your replies, unfortunately I was too young to open it and look inside. It was indeed rented from Radio Rentals from approx 1963 to 1973. The brightness and contrast controls were thumbwheel type that protruded through the top of the back cover.

Hello, just bumping this up to see if any recent joiners have any ideas.

Mark
I worked at the Bradford Factory 1965 - 1968 and we didn't make anything like that, so I guess it must have been later.
Was it Dual Standard? It doesn't look like it is.

Could this have been a set made for one of the relay companies?
It was 405 line only with vhf radio, definately early 60s and Baird. The channel select slider activated a motorised tuner which clunked round for a few seconds before stopping at the selected channel.
Hi.
Geordie McBoyne may have an idea. Maybe worth a PM.
