In particular the o/p level and impedance available at the DIN socket, pins 3®,5(L)72(G), which I assume are intened to supply a tape recorder with signals. Having had two attempts at getting a satisfactory signal into a Pioneer Xc-L7 HiFi, only to find that, although the sound quality is as good as might be expected from a player of this type, the volume is much lower at any setting of the Pioneer's control, than that obtained from the latter's inbuilt tuner, CD player or cassette deck. The RP33 uses an earlier version of the red ceramic cartridges currently sold for about £2 on eBay, so about 200-250mV should be available, though I haven't measured it. The pickup is effectively shunted by 859k per channel (820k series followed by 39k shunt), whilst, as far as I can gather, thie input impedance of the XC-L7 is about 100k. This doesn't, iknow, equate to the 'low into high by a factor of 10', which I remember being taught.
