It did arrive by post! But I don't understand what you mean about getting it by high technology, unless you are referring to the postal service machines. I am all for it (high technology) when it works, but it is pretty obvious to me that driverless cars will not become the norm this century!
Got a letter from the DVLA this morning telling me that as I have declared a history of glaucoma, I will be committing a criminal offence if I drive without my glasses on! Again, I don't mind wearing long-distance glasses when driving if that keeps them happy. But what I do object to, is them telling me I have declared a history of glaucoma, when I have not, because I do not have it! On the 13th of this month, at the hospital, the specialist said in plain English. "You do not have glaucoma!" And then put it in writing in the report that I received a week later, together with the statement "perfectly fit to drive from an ocular point of view!"
I can read number plates without glasses at far greater distances than those required by law (20 metres) and as I did the fields test on the "high technology" Specsavers machine without glasses I really wonder what their reasoning is.
