Lucky for you it was an easy change. Cost me 8€ at garage to get ours changed, they said that the Renault Scenic is particularly nasty in this respect.

Haven't done it yet. I think I've got a bulb, if not Poundland sometimes have them. Otherwise the nearest place to get a bulb is a couple of miles away. 8€ doesn't sound too bad, especially when Halfords etc will likely charge £3 for the bulb alone.

Had a spare bulb. Under 10 minutes, no tools needed.

Jeffrey,
I had already bought the bulb so the 8€ was just for fitting! Andy

Volvo V70/D5 is a dog to change the headlight bulb. Engine management unit has to be removed.
Volvo dealer did it for free, but what a pig of a job...

Hi.
You know all of my old cars were a doddle to change a bulb, the stories you hear now are unreal. The latest scam is a number of new cars come with no sump plug, you have to buy one of those Pela suction pumps if you are a DIY person and like to do your own oil and filter changes. You're also stuck with the service indicator light and again some are Main Dealer only to do the reset. One of the things I wanted to do before the health problem put it on hold was to do vehicle diagnostics, I have all the kit for MGR, BMW & VAG but others are a nightmare to get proper diagnostic kit. if you even thought of OEM it could cost between £10,000 & 15,000 for the hardware alone. I know that by law you can take a car to a non franchised dealer when under manufacturers warranty but I have heard instances that warranty claims are not up-held as the service light was on, even though the customer had a receipt for the service and the book was stamped. Beware then if you have the dosh to afford a new car and go to your local garage for service work.
Cheers.

I was driving a Vauxhall Midi - so this would be about 20 years ago - to an event at Duxford. Just before we got to the car park, the engine warning light came on. The handbook said not to drive it, so we went the event at the airfield and called out the RAC when it was over.
When he arrived he gave it a quick check over and asked when it had last been serviced - which was about a fortnight before, by the main dealer. He pointed to the odometer which read just over 50,000 miles and said the light came on at 50,000 as a warning to replace the timing belt, but it should be safe to drive it home ... ... idiots at the garage had changed the timing belt but forgot to reset the alarm ... Of course, being a company vehicle, I didn't get to see the invoice so had no way of knowing what work had been carried out.

Hi without being a pain try & avoid cheap headlamp bulbs as I am getting a lot of lamps fitted with them presented for mot & the beam pattern is awful( H7 type bulbs been the main culprit ) & all type of bulbs do not last long as they are having a hard time as most headlamp Lenz are plastic as well as the reflector
