To be fair, though plated-through is not on, those rivet-things worked quite well. 4-layer, OTOH = not possible. To get a 4-layer board made, silk screen, soldermask and all for only USD 6 would have been inconceivable even a year or two ago.

Thanks Nick for posting that link. I may use them in the future.
Narrow tracks and pads for SMD chips are also difficult to home brew. SOP packaged chips I can manage to home brew a PCB for but something like a PQFP package is beyond my ability, yet there are many chips only available in such packages. Frank

For that ridiculously small amount of money you get the whole lot. Solder mask, silk screen legend as well as the drilled PTH board. Even if you only need single sided it's still cheap enough.
